The Challenge
Corrosion and chemical attack never stop. Every unprotected metal or concrete surface exposed to aggressive media, immersion, or an abrasive process is losing thickness and life from the moment it enters service. Recoating with the wrong system, or letting a surface degrade to failure, drives repeated shutdowns, product contamination, and premature asset replacement.
Tank interiors and exteriors, vessel linings, pipework, structural steel, and secondary containment across every industry face immersion, chemical exposure, condensation, and abrasion. Standard paints and generic coatings frequently fail early at edges, welds, and immersed surfaces — leaving operators trapped in a cycle of surface preparation and reapplication.
Belzona's cold-applied protective coatings and linings are engineered for the specific service conditions of each asset — immersion, chemical resistance, high temperature, or heavy abrasion. Applied by brush, roller, or spray with no hot work, they deliver long-term protection that dramatically extends maintenance intervals. Rumford Industrial Group provides local specification support and application guidance across five states.
Tanks & VesselsLine interiors against immersion and chemical attack, and protect exteriors and roofs from atmospheric corrosion.
Pipework & DuctworkInternal and external coatings that resist corrosion, erosion, and chemical exposure across process lines.
Structural SteelLong-life corrosion protection for beams, supports, walkways, and steelwork in harsh environments.
Secondary ContainmentChemical-resistant linings for bunds, sumps, and trenches to contain spills and prevent ingress.
Pumps & ValvesErosion- and corrosion-resistant internal coatings that also improve efficiency and flow.
Heat ExchangersProtective linings for water boxes, tube sheets, and channel heads exposed to corrosive cooling water.
Corrosion Protection Coatings
Cold-applied epoxy coatings that protect metal surfaces against atmospheric and immersed corrosion — surface-tolerant systems for demanding environments.
Chemical-Resistant Linings
Immersion-grade linings engineered to resist acids, alkalis, solvents, and aggressive process chemistry inside tanks, vessels, and containment.
Abrasion-Resistant Coatings
Ceramic-filled systems that protect surfaces subject to particle impact, sliding abrasion, and erosive flow in chutes, hoppers, and pump internals.
Efficiency-Enhancing Linings
Ultra-smooth internal coatings that reduce surface roughness in pumps and pipework, improving flow and reducing energy consumption.
High Temperature Coatings
Coating systems formulated for hot surfaces and elevated operating temperatures where conventional epoxies would break down.
Immersion & Water Contact
Linings suitable for continuous immersion in water and process fluids, including potable-water-approved systems where required.
01
SpecificationService conditions — immersion, chemistry, temperature, and abrasion — are reviewed to select the correct coating or lining system for the asset and its environment.
02
Surface PreparationSurfaces are cleaned and profiled — typically by abrasive blasting — to achieve the adhesion and profile the coating system requires for long-term performance.
03
ApplicationThe system is applied by brush, roller, or spray at ambient temperature. Solvent-free formulations allow safe application in confined and enclosed spaces.
04
Inspection & CureThe system is inspected for thickness and continuity — including holiday detection on immersion linings — then cured at ambient temperature before return to service.
05
Long-Term ProtectionThe asset is returned to service with a durable barrier that extends service life up to 42 years and protects against corrosion, chemical attack, and abrasion.
