Deteriorated Wall & Concrete Base Rebuilt

Challenge

Along several walls of a building for a commercial construction company, the bottom edge of the metal siding panels had corroded and rotted away where they met the concrete block base wall. The block base below was weathered, stained, and spalled, and gaps behind the panels left the wall insulation exposed, letting water into the wall around the windows and along the long elevations.

Belzona Solution

Rumford Industrial Group removed damaged siding where needed, cleared the debris and corrosion from the base of the panels, and prepared the concrete block base for repair. The base wall was then rebuilt to profile and resurfaced with Belzona 4111 (Magma-Quartz), trowel-applied by hand, and the bottom edges of the siding panels were rebuilt and coated so the cladding now sits on a sealed, weather-tight base. The work was cold applied in situ, with no hot work and no wall replacement.

Result

The concrete base was rebuilt to profile, the siding edges were rebuilt and sealed, and water ingress was stopped along the repaired walls and around the windows, without replacing the wall or the cladding.
