Leaking Packing-Area Roof Waterproofed

Client: Industrial FacilityIndustry: Facilities Maintenance
Leaking Packing-Area Roof Waterproofed

Challenge

Water was getting into a packing area through failed lap seams and fastener rows on a large standing-seam metal roof. The existing roof coating had degraded, fasteners and seams were exposed around the roof vents, and product stored below was at risk every time it rained.

Belzona Solution

Rumford Industrial Group waterproofed the roof with Belzona 3111 (Flexible Membrane). The seams, fastener rows, and details around the roof vents were cleaned and prepared, then Belzona 3111 was brush-applied with a reinforcement sheet embedded along each seam and lap. A second coat was applied over the reinforcement to form one seamless, flexible waterproof layer that bonds to the metal and moves with the roof. The system is cold applied, so no tear-off or hot work was needed.

Result

The leaks were sealed and the seams, fasteners, and vent details are now protected by a seamless flexible membrane, without replacing the roof or disrupting work in the packing area below.
