Worn Loading Dock & Ramp Rebuilt

Client: Municipal BuildingIndustry: Facilities Maintenance
Worn Loading Dock & Ramp Rebuilt

Challenge

Due to years of wear, this concrete loading dock and ramp was severely worn. The concrete had spalled away at the dock edge and corner, exposing corroded rebar and leaving broken edges and trip hazards where people and equipment cross every day.

Belzona Solution

Rumford Industrial Group rebuilt the damage with Belzona 4154 (Magma Resins) and pea gravel. Wood supports were set up as formwork around the edges, then the resin and pea gravel mix was placed, compacted, and smoothed out to restore the original profile of the dock and corner. Once the supports were removed, a topcoat of Belzona 4111 (Magma Quartz) was applied across the rebuilt area to offer a long-term solution.

Result

The dock and ramp were rebuilt to their original shape and protected with a hard-wearing topcoat, giving a long-term solution without breaking out and re-pouring the concrete.
